The first Trà Leng Cinnamon Festival is expected to take place in July 2026 with the largest scale ever, promising to become a prominent cultural and tourism event in the western mountainous region of Da Nang. The program is expected to attract a large number of tourists, businesses, and investors interested in specialty agricultural products, community tourism, and mountainous economic development.
Honoring the specialty cinnamon region amidst the vast forest
For a long time, Quế Trà Leng has been known as one of the famous cinnamon regions due to the special natural conditions of the high mountain area. With an altitude of about 1,500m above sea level, cool climate all year round, large day-night temperature range, and thick fog, the cinnamon trees here grow slowly but produce thick bark, high essential oil content, and a distinctive aroma.
According to the plan, the festival will comprehensively introduce the value of Quế Trà Leng through various cultural experience activities, OCOP product displays, traditional craft demonstrations, and trade connections. In addition to promoting local products, the event is also an opportunity to introduce the cultural identity of the Ca Dong, Xơ Đăng, and Mơ Nông ethnic groups through gong spaces, brocade, and community activities in the highlands.
Expanding opportunities for Trà Leng cinnamon products
With its geographical indication protected since 2011 and OCOP certification, Trà Leng cinnamon is gradually asserting its position in the domestic specialty agricultural product market. In particular, the launch of the Mountain Harvest brand has opened up a new approach for Trà Leng cinnamon products through a modern distribution system, helping the product reach urban consumers and the international market more closely.
Currently, many Ca Dong households in the locality are also being supported to transition from selling raw cinnamon to developing deep-processed products such as cinnamon essential oil, cinnamon powder, scented candles, and other value-added products.
Expectations to create a tourism highlight in the highlands
The Trà Leng Cinnamon Festival 2026 not only promotes agricultural products but is also seen as an opportunity to boost mountainous tourism and attract investment for the locality.
Through cultural, commercial, and indigenous experience activities, Trà Leng hopes to introduce the image of a land rich in identity to a large number of domestic and international tourists. Trà Leng today is gradually opening up new opportunities for sustainable economic development associated with the preservation of indigenous culture and resources.
