From August 1st to 3rd, 2026, Da Nang city will organize the Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Festival 2026 with numerous large-scale cultural, economic, and tourism activities to promote the value of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and other precious Vietnamese medicinal herbs.
Promoting Vietnam's “national treasure” to the world
The Da Nang City People's Committee has issued Plan No. 259/KH-UBND on organizing the Da Nang International Festival of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs 2026.
This is considered an important event to promote the special value of Sâm Ngọc Linh – a rare medicinal herb dubbed Vietnam's “national treasure”; at the same time, it aims to foster the development of the ginseng-medicinal herb value chain, promote health tourism, and attract investment in the medicinal herb sector.
According to the plan, festival activities will take place in Da Nang city center and ginseng and medicinal herb growing areas such as Trà Linh, Nam Trà My, Trà Vân, Bến Hiên, Trà Leng, and Trà Tập.
Many unique cultural and artistic activities
The series of events will kick off with the Ceremony of Worshipping the Ginseng God and the second Ngoc Linh Ginseng seedling donation in 2026, taking place on July 31st at the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Temple in Kon Pin village, Trà Linh commune. The program will reenact the ritual of worshipping the Ginseng God by the Xê Đăng people, combined with gong performances, erecting a Neu pole, and donating ginseng seedlings to disadvantaged households.
The opening ceremony is expected to take place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on August 1st in Da Nang city center with the theme “Sâm Ngọc Linh - The Quintessence of World Medicinal Herbs”. The program will tell the story of Sâm Ngọc Linh through art, combined with the signing of memoranda of understanding for cooperation in developing ginseng and medicinal herb growing areas.
The festival section will feature gong and folk song performances by the Ca Dong, Xê Đăng, Bh’noong, Cơ Tu ethnic groups, along with modern music programs to recreate the beauty of the Ngoc Linh mountains and spread the value of Vietnamese medicinal herbs to the international market.

Experience space and investment connection
Throughout the festival, the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Space will be organized with various experiential areas such as recreating the Ngoc Linh ginseng forest ecosystem; displaying precious Vietnamese and international ginseng and medicinal herbs; introducing refined products from ginseng and medicinal herbs such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and functional foods.
Highlights of the festival also include the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Contest, the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Auction Floor to raise funds for ginseng area conservation, the “Flavors of the Great Forest” culinary space, art programs, and a Gala Dinner connecting domestic and international businesses and investors.
Besides, visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in the “Journey to the Great Forest - Discover Ngoc Linh Ginseng” tour, visit ginseng growing areas, interact with local people, explore the ginseng market, and hunt for clouds in the Trà Tập mountains.
Towards a health tourism center
Within the framework of the festival, an international scientific conference on Ngoc Linh Ginseng and medicinal herbs, the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Golf Tournament, and the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Pickleball Tournament will also take place, with the participation of many domestic and international businesses, scientists, and athletes.
Through the festival, Da Nang city aims to promote the value of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Vietnamese medicinal herbs; attract investment, promote the development of the ginseng-medicinal herb value chain; and at the same time position Da Nang as a center for health tourism and resort associated with medicinal herbs and traditional medicine in the future.
