On October 19, following the directive of the Trà Leng Commune People's Committee, the Commune Health Station, in coordination with functional forces, organized the second mosquito spraying campaign in Tak Xoai village to proactively control dengue fever and limit the risk of community transmission.
Mosquito spraying, close monitoring of the epidemic situation
During this campaign, mosquito spraying was carried out to strengthen dengue fever prevention and control measures in Tak Xoai village. The activity was implemented under the direction of the Trà Leng Commune People's Committee, with coordination between the Commune Health Station and functional forces.
Comrade Pham Thi Thanh Thai was directly present at the site to supervise the spraying work and monitor the epidemic situation. According to local information, the dengue fever situation is currently under basic control, and no new cases have been recorded.
In addition to spraying chemicals, proactive mosquito and larva (tadpole) eradication in households still plays an important role in controlling the risk of disease outbreaks and spread. §8§ Proactively eliminate mosquitoes and larvae in households
Chủ động diệt muỗi, diệt lăng quăng tại hộ gia đình
To protect their own health, their families, and the community, the Trà Leng Commune Health Station recommends that people regularly clean their homes and surrounding areas and eliminate items that can hold water – where disease-carrying mosquitoes breed.
People should cover water containers, regularly change water, and clean water-holding items; turn over unused items that can accumulate water. Fish can be released into suitable water containers to eliminate larvae, and regular checks should be maintained for areas around the house where mosquitoes are likely to breed.
To reduce mosquito bites, people should sleep under mosquito nets both day and night, wear long-sleeved clothing, and use appropriate mosquito repellents. These practices should be maintained regularly, even when no new cases have been recorded in the area.
Recognize disease symptoms, seek timely medical attention
Dengue fever can cause dangerous complications if not monitored and treated promptly. When symptoms such as sudden high fever, headache, eye pain, or fatigue appear, people should go to a medical facility for examination and appropriate care; do not self-medicate or treat at home without guidance from medical staff.
The coordination between the health sector, local authorities, and the people is crucial in disease prevention and control. Every household needs to proactively implement environmental sanitation measures, eliminate mosquitoes and larvae, and monitor the health of family members.
Through the second mosquito spraying campaign in Tak Xoai village, along with disease prevention communication activities, Trà Leng commune continues to strengthen dengue fever control measures, aiming to protect community health and limit the risk of disease spread in the area.
